This brooch with the initials
“F.D” in minute pearls (?) on a hair background and mounted in a gold frame
belonged to Frances Dickinson (née de Brissac.)
Thomas Dickinson Capt. R.N.
b 1754 m. 30 June 1781, Frances daughter of Peter Abraham de Brissac. He
d. 26th May 1828. She died 27 Aug. 1854.
Their second child Thomas b. 16th
April 1784, married first Catherine Dean who d. 1855. He d. 19th
April 1861.
Their fourth child Sebastian
Stewart b. 25th March1815, m. 15 May 1856 Frances Stephana Hyett who
d.23 Dec. 1893. He d. 23rd Aug 1878.
Their eldest child Frances May,
m. James Berry [August 5. 1891]
The brooch descended from
Frances Dickinson to her daughter Ann Evans & from Ann Evans to her daughter
Emma Hubbard and from Emma Hubbard to her daughter Frances Hooper and at her
death it came to me George Hubbard, her brother, and I give it to Mrs Frances
May Dickinson-Berry my second cousin and the great grand-daughter of the
original owner, Mrs Thomas Dickinson.
