Uncle Ben. He looked just like many Downs people and was short. He came with someone to St.Albans and our Vicarage around 1944?? He amused me a great deal, as he turned the nursery table on its side and slid all our teddy bears, gollywogs etc. down it, with hoots of laughter. I thought this was a marvellous way of playing and very novel! But that is all I can remember. Why he came I don't know.
